It’s crazy! The recipe isn’t even accurate- they made it up because it’s not the same as mine. I truly hope people aren’t wasting their time/ valuable ingredients on something which won’t even taste nice 😬😬
Unfortunately they get some much likes on reddit because people dont know it's AI! They parasite on you and other creators! Those AI recipes never work!!!
Have you ever seen a video of Michael Rozen reading his poem "chocolate cake"?
That was me after trying this cake. It is divine! Not too sweet, moist crumb, perfect on its own or as a canvas for creams and toppings. I enjoyed it most with a cherry compote and a glass of cold milk.
Mine got HUGE in the oven, but settled down a bit while cooling. It resulted in a bit of "compressed" line at the bottom of the cake. Did I underbake it? Or should I cool it upside down? Or is it perfectly normal? Thank you!
This is the sweetest comment! Thank you ☺️ so glad that you enjoyed - I definitely need to go read that poem!! ✨
What you described is perfectly normal for moist single layer cakes . As long as the texture is still tender and soft, it’s not a flaw of the cake it’s very typical for this style of cake.
If you feel it was more than what’s “normal” it could have been caused by either slightly underbaking (add 5-8 minutes extra in the oven next time)
Or the oven temp could have been too hot (this causes the middle to balloon up and the sides set quickly, then the centre of the cake collapses down later on)
You can easily fix this by lowering the oven temp by 10 degrees.
Also, over mixing could also be a cause !
I never reccomend letting a chocolate cake of this type cool upside down as it can risk the cake cracking.
Thank you so much for your advice! The texture was nice and felt completely baked. It is probably the temperature issue! My oven has only bottom heat, and temperature fluctuates a lot! (I use oven thermometer to watch the temperature and adjust accordingly)
Also, I gave half of the cake to coworkers, it was a huge hit! So thank you again for the amazing recipe with clear instructions ♥️
Do you think this would work as a layer cake? Would love to make for a friends birthday in two weeks (I think it’s great for a winter birthday celebration :))
Hi ess c, did u end up turning it into a layer cake? How did it go?! Was thinking to make the same for a friend’s birthday and is wondering if it will turn out well!

the most perfect cake, he did so welll!
Stunning cake! And I found it unfortunately because there are people stealing your photos for their ai sites on reddit! Are you affiliated with bitemakes.com?? Look what they are doing!!! https://www.reddit.com/r/bakingrecipes/s/j2i7Z8ySs3
Thank you so much for brining this to my attention. 🤍
Unfortunately countless people have been stealing my content and photos. I don’t know if there’s anything I can do to prevent it. 😔
This website specifically has stolen so much of my work and altered the images with AI. It’s truly so shameful and disrespectful.
File a dmca claim with google! Maybe they can take it down! I keep seeing this site being pushed by bots :( 😞 what a shame
I’ll look into this! Thanks so much ☺️

Looks divine!! But I will probably swap with mascarpone instead of heavy cream whipped cream

Hi! Do you use nonfat Greek yogurt? Does it matter?
im super new to baking so pardon my stupid question - but can you make the batter 2-3 days before you wanna bake it/freeze it and bake it later ??

I didn’t! But if you do please share how it was!
Hi ess c, did u end up turning it into a layer cake? How did it go?! Was thinking to make the same for a friend’s birthday and is wondering if it will turn out well!
Am going to attempt to make this- a few questions: what is the height of the cake tin if using 8 or 9 inch and can the compote be made days ahead?
